What is the best method to obtain employment? By internet posting jobs, word of mouth, networking or by reading the classifieds help wanteds and calling to make interviews or by going to the Department of Labor and posting jobs and taking classes that way?

I would say put on something nice, (first impressions still matter) Walk into the place of employment, sell yourself be prepared, and always give eye contact!!!
Reply:Sounds like you have been covering your bases, fairly well. If you are interested in a particular job, keep on bugging them. They will let you know, one way or the other. I was interested in a particular job and stayed sitting in the office about 4 hours or so until the owener came in. I let him know I was very interested in that position. He hired me on the spot. At that time I didn't have anywhere else to go. So I had the time to sit and wait. Perseverance works. And have a positive attitude. It works also. Have a good morning.
Reply:There is no best method to obtaining employment. An employer will want to know your qualifications: how much schooling have you had, what other jobs have you held, why aren't you working now,. So best you get a resume of the experience, what your good points are, the skills you have and how you can fit into the position to be filled.All of the areas you mentioned should be explored when seeking employment.
Reply:i find that asking around gives you a foot up on the competition for a potentially fulfilling position. it doesn't hurt to make connections and utilize them.
