Does anyone know the specific requirements of length of employment when signing a lease?

My lease ends at the end of this month. I don't have a job right now, but will by the end of the week. I worry that I will be unable to sign a new lease because this will not be enough time working for this employment reference. Does anyone know the specific requirements of employment length when signing a lease?

I have been self-employed and in college this past year, how can I reference this or sign a lease with this if necessary?

It is entirely up to the landlord and their requirements. They are the ones to approve or disapprove your request.
Reply:if you already have a lease and it's ending, some places with allow you to go month to month with a little extra fee. or if you already have the lease and you know you can afford to sign another one, i don't think that you changing jobs will matter. They know you have a past history with them so they may not even ask where you are working now. I don't think they can deny you a new lease because you have changed jobs anyway. All they want is their rent every month without fail.

Hope this helps
Reply:For a new tenant, usually a year. For a renewal, they usually do not enforce any requirements as long as you have been paying the rent on time and they have not had problems with you.
