What is the best thing to do if my previous employer did not want to issue my certification of employment?

Almost one month ago when I requested my Certification to my previous employer. I really needed this because of my pre-employment requirements. I already resigned and properly endorsed my workloads but my boss did not accepted that I had decided to leave her that is why she's holding my certifiation.

What is the best thing to do if my previous employer did not want to issue my certification of employment?
I don't think they do not want to issue your certification of employment; maybe they just want to make it hard for you for some reason.

Actually, you should have made sure you have it with you before you left and before you sign any waiver of accountability on their part. It's too late for that now. The only thing you can do is to make follow-up frequently until they got feed-up!

Or you can talk to your former boss and explain your predicament. I'm sure she don't want to do any harm on your future. Maybe she's waiting for you to do just that.

I wish you goodluck.
Reply:Its not too late!..you have the right to get your certification any time even after you resign

Just make things documented and official.

Request your certification on a letter.

Keep yourself a copy.

Try to give it through your union(If they don't do it for you,at least send it on the registered mail!).

Its important to mention you need it in a very soon reasonable time for next employment you got(so if they tried to make it hard they could be taken to court for damage by intention!)

Don't worry they have to give it to you, just be confident so they know they will get a headache if they don't give it to you

good luck
Reply:write formally requesting for the letter and copy your union if you belong to any union, you should also involved other senior officials of the company to intervene, if all these fail, tell your new employer to request for it on your behalf.
