How much do employment agencies charge the companies for providing an employ?

I am employed through an employment agency and get paid from them. So I would like to know, how much in fact they charge the compani I work for?

Based on some calculation (I might be wrong though) I only get like 84% of my salary, wheras the rest of 16% goes to the agency. Can this be true? has any one got experiece in this?

Thank you all.

How much do employment agencies charge the companies for providing an employ?
they get 20-30% of the salary offered to the prospective employee - pct usually starts at 20% for a 20,000/yr job and goes up to 30% for a 30,000+/yr job. Of course you're not going to get the whole commission. The company you work for has rent, utilities, supervisor salaries, etc to pay.
Reply:If you are on an hourly rate - the agency will get more per hour than you do.

For example if you get £8 / hr - then they probably invoice the company for £17 / hr.
Reply:Labor Ready just made a 40% jump in share price. I am thinking of buying it. It is the future of labor earnings because it depends on temporary employees, to which no benefits will be paid(health coverage and such to be done by government and or already held by employee from a previous job) and to which work will be provided for near minimum wage.

I suspect, that on an average, temp agencies make about 40% more than they pay you. Now with that in mind, you could try to get these jobs yourself and see where you land? But consider that these temp agencies really keep their costs down and what can you do about that? They are already established. Are you?
