How do You Verify Employment at a Company that No Longer Exists?

I used to work at a company several years back that no longer exists now. The mail comes back as undeliverable and phone number is disconnected.

I've stated the experience at this company on my resume, though. How does a potential employer verify this employment/experience? And, yes, I haven't even saved my old w-2 or pay stubs.

Please help!

How do You Verify Employment at a Company that No Longer Exists?
My husband has this situation on his resume and we just put company no longer in business. No one has ever questioned it.
Reply:They will either have to take your word, and you can hope that the rest of your resume will speak for itself, or give a phone number of someone that used to work with you that can verify, or basically give you a reference.
Reply:Companies understand that sometime companies go belly up. And why wouldn't you save your w-2's? All you can do is put it on the resume and explain it to the potential employer.
Reply:Talk to the national insurance and the tax people. They actually have a complete record of where your tax and NI came from.
