What is the USPS criteria for employment?

I'm currently 17 years old, and 18 in a month.

I've "got connections", as I hear it is popular to have to receive employment with USPS. I am very close with several people who have served with USPS for years and years.

I'm a hard working citizen for my age and pull 6 hours every day mon-fri at a local factory my dad operates.

I know I must take the civil service exam (won't be a problem.)

Also, I am sworn in and a new enlistee with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard (leaving for Basic this Summer!), does this help any?

What I need to know is if you must be a high school graduate with a high school diploma to be eligible to work for USPS.

This is what I found off of the USPS website-

Age Requirement

18 years at the time of appointment or 16 years with a high school diploma.

Does this mean that when I am 18 I am eligible for employment, although not yet a graduate?

What is the USPS criteria for employment?
At 18 you are eligible regardless of your HS grad status. You might also be eligible now if you have officially dropped out of high school.

The thinking behind the rule of 16 and requiring a high school diploma is that they don't want kids in their senior year dropping out of high school to work for the USPS.

You will need at least two years of safe driving experience which is documented on your DMV driving record. Hope you got your first license when you were exactly 16.
