I am writing my cv for a professor I want to do research with. Should I put past jobs such as my summer retail job that I had 2 years ago? Is it necessary or should I just cut that whole part out? Do I need to include employment at all if it is not relevent to working in a lab?
Is it necessary to include employment that has nothing to do with education in my curriculum vitae?
Only if that is your only employment experience.
