I worked for a company that was made up of 2 sections, construction and merchandising. The construction portion of the company was "bought out" by an old manager. The construction portion became it's own new company, separate from the original. My employment was "moved" to the new company with the same seniority date and salary. The original company still exsists so I'm concerned about listing the name on my resume seeing as how I no longer technically work for them. Should I just put the new company's name with the date range from the original company to the present?
What name of a company do you use for your resume when it changed during employment?
Use the new company's name and use the dates you began working before the move till now... you'll have an opportunity to explain it to potential employers during interviews if you think its necessary.
Reply:you are using the new name and put the old name behind
eg
Chrysler (former DaimlerChrysler)
